LAIFC Invitational Tournament a Success
The LAIFC Invitational took place Sunday, August 31 and Monday, Sept. 1. Thanks to all the participants, refs, coaches and volunteers who made it possible.

LAIFC SUCCESS at SUMMER NATIONALS
Congratulations to all who fenced at this years’ Summer Nationals in San Jose. Reports from the venue were overwhelmingly positive – it was truly a great nationals for all involved.
The fencers of the Pacific Coast Section truly excelled, garnering 135 medals (the most of any section) including three gold medals! LAIFC foil fencers brought home 6 medals: Eli Schenkel a bronze in MF Cadet, Aaron Ahn a bronze in MF Y10, Madison Zeiss a 5th place in WF Cadet, Robert Daniluk a 6th place in MF Junior, Aidan Ahn 7th in MF Y10 and Chris Dollar 7th in MF Div 1A! Ethan Plante, who fences both foil and epee, took 6th place in Y12 ME. Many more LAIFC fencers finished in the top 16 and top 32. CONGRATULATIONS to all!
As we begin the summer season and begin recharging for next year’s competition, we should all take a moment to celebrate our accomplishments of 2008.
